Our school was founded in 1954 by the sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart, who are often referred to as the ‘brown Joes’ for their distinct habit. Saint Mary MacKillop founded this order, hence the MacKillop sayings that encapsulate our school values. Mary MacKillop’s feast day is celebrated on 8th August and we will have a special liturgy at school on this day.

Our next Whole School Sunday Mass will be held on Sunday 6 September at Christ the King Parish.
As a Catholic school, celebrating Mass together is an important part of who we are. Our Sunday School Masses provide a special opportunity for our students, staff and families to come together with our parish community to celebrate our faith.
We strongly encourage all families to make attendance at our Whole School Sunday Mass a priority. We understand that weekends are busy, but these Masses are an important part of our Catholic Special Character and provide our children with the opportunity to see the strong connection between school, family and parish.
We would love to see a fantastic turnout from our CTK families on Sunday 6 September and to have our church filled with our students and their whānau as we celebrate together.
